Job description


Computer and information systems adminstrator

Under the direct supervision of the Customer Service and Technical Support Manager, the Computer and Information Systems Administrator is in charge of the internal network infrastructure, the cluster of application host servers, as well as the administration of the databases.

  • In charge of the internal network infrastructure and of the cluster of application host servers
  • Oversees technical services to ensure the availability, reliability and redundancy of Fidelio’s technological ecosystem
  • Analyzes technical support requests and identifies the issues through problem-solving and active listening
  • Assists in documenting technical problems, transferring knowledge and drafting process documents
  • Participates in identifying and implementing new work methods to improve efficiency and optimize customer experience
  • Ensures maximum use of the technical work environment
  • Maintains and updates the computer population, the software and the servers
  • Installs and updates the application software developed by Commsoft or any other application software as needed
  • Ensures the smooth execution of ongoing database management operations
  • Measures the overall availability and performance of the database environments and proposes solutions for improvement as needed
  • Intervenes outside of regular work hours (evenings and weekends) to resolve production problems that can lead to service failures
  • In collaboration with the development teams, plans and executes database updates relative to evolving system functionalities
  • Works punctually with the development teams to determine the best work methods
  • Promptly identifies and resolves database performance issues with the help of query plans, SQL Server Profiler, and Windows Performance Monitor
  • Optimizes queries, existing systems or query plans

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Able to explain in layman’ terms the appropriate solutions in response to customer needs and questions
  • Organized and able to carry out tasks independently
  • Patient and able to exercise self-control and show empathy
  • Team-focused with a sense of responsibility
  • Able to work on various projects simultaneously and at times with tight deadlines
  • Exceptional internal/external customer service that is supportive and proactive

REQUIREMENTS             

  • Diploma in information technology or any other field relevant to the position
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in the field
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (an asset)
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and SQL Server DBMS
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and IIS
  • Awareness of the realities of small and medium-sized businesses
  • Azure certification or equivalent skills
  • MCSE certification (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Office 365
  • Experience in database management (DBA)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
